Road Traffic Collision Carnforth Update 10/09/2026

Good morning. You may have been aware of the police closing Lancaster Road in both directions yesterday (Thursday 10th September) and the resulting traffic chaos caused. This was down to a serious injury road traffic collision which happened at around 10:30 hours on the mini roundabout, Lancaster Road junction with Longfield Drive (Crag Bank). The collision involved two vehicles; a Honda motorcycle and a silver Toyota car. The rider of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries and was air lifted to hospital by Helimed. We appreciate everyone’s patience whilst we closed the road to allow life saving work by our colleagues in the North West Ambulance Service and Lancashire Fire and Rescue.

I am happy to be able to say the motorcyclist although he has suffered major trauma is recovering in hospital.
