Commercial building fire on Darwen Street, Blackburn |

Dear Resident, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service is currently dealing with a commercial building fire on Darwen Street, Blackburn. At 2.35am today, Tuesday 23 June, six fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were called to the incident. The fire is affecting the first floor and roof space of a two-storey commercial property. Firefighters are using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to tackle the fire. Crews remain in attendance and the incident is ongoing. Road closures are currently in place on Mill Lane, St Peter’s Street, and Darwen Street at Dandy Walk. These closures are expected to remain in place into the morning while emergency services continue to work at the scene. Please avoid the area where possible and allow extra time for your journey.
