Monthly Newsletter for Barrow, Pendleton and Wiswell, April 2026
We started the month conducting enquiries around Elbow Wood Drive area after a report of a suspicious vehicle on the estate at the end of March. It turned out to be a genuine mistake, but it gave us a chance to have a wander and speak with residents. Some people weren’t aware of the newly opened Community Village Hall at the end of Old Row, so we would encourage you to pop down and have a look at some point. PC Woodall and I will be there this evening from 6.30pm for an hour, for our first drop-in, so if you have any issues that you want to discuss, please call in.
Last month we took 38 calls for the area. You’ll be happy to know that only one of these was in relation to a crime! This was a theft of motorbike from Pendleton, which unfortunately is still outstanding. Wiswell was without any incidents and Worston (which comes under this area but never gets mentioned) had one report. Barrow had one call relating to anti-social behaviour, which was an issue between a taxi driver and his passenger, and two calls of suspicious circumstances. One of these was domestic related and the other a suspicion of a drug deal. Other calls included two trees across the A59 (separately); a broken-down vehicle, again on the A59, along with a quantity of loose stones and a number of escaped cows! Our next drop in (after tonight) will be Tuesday 26th May at Clitheroe Library, 1-2pm; Thursday 4th June, 5-6pm at Booths then Wednesday 17th June back at the Village Hall, Barrow.
