Operation Rally - 25th March |
||
|
Afternoon Resident,
Here are the results from yesterdays Operation Rally:
Operation Rally across South Hyndburn, bringing together a wide range of policing activity focused on safety, visibility, and community engagement in the areas of Oswaldtwistle and Springhill.
🚦 Speed Enforcement in Problem Areas
Officers carried out targeted speed checks in known hotspots, helping to keep roads safer for residents, schoolchildren, and local businesses.
🏫 School Safety Visits
Teams visited local schools to speak with students about road safety and to engage with parents around responsible parking—particularly on school zig‑zags, where unsafe stopping puts children at risk.
☕ Coffee With a Cop
Residents had the chance to meet officers informally, raise concerns, and build relationships over a brew. These conversations remain one of the most valuable ways for communities to shape local policing priorities.
🚗 Vehicle Safety Checks with the DSA
Alongside partners from the Driving Standards Agency, officers carried out vehicle safety checks to ensure cars on our roads are safe, legal, and fit for purpose.
🐎 Mounted Patrols
Our mounted officers were out and about across the area, offering high‑visibility reassurance and engaging with residents young and old.
👮 High‑Visibility Patrols
Throughout the day, officers were present across key locations, providing reassurance, deterring crime, and being available for anyone who needed support.
🛍️ Crime Prevention Advice
Shops and businesses received tailored crime‑prevention guidance, helping strengthen local resilience and reduce opportunities for offending.
🤝 Community Engagement at the Heart
Operation Rally wasn’t just about enforcement it was about connection. Officers spent time listening to residents, understanding concerns, and working together to make South Hyndburn a safer, stronger place.
