Think before you answer! - Doorstep Safety Reminder

Good Afternoon everyone,

We recently received a report of a suspicious male who claimed to be working on behalf of a solicitor making enquires about damp. This male did have ID but he did not show it to our informant, which made them suspicious and they decided to report their behaviour. If you do have someone like this come to your door, look for red flags! These red flags may be refusing to provide verifiable ID/paperwork, rushing you into making a decision/signing something immediately, asking for upfront payments in cash/gift cards/bank transfer or getting aggressive/defensive when you start asking questions. If you do experience behaviour like this, please report it to 101 if it is not an emergency, or 999 if there is an immediate risk to yourself or others.

You're not being rude by double checking, you're protecting yourself. Genuine people will always understand, scammers not so much. It is always better to be safe than sorry!
