On the 1st of April the Burnley Neighbourhood Policing Team joined forces with Trading Standards and did a number of  visits across Burnley.

The purpose of these visits was to seize illegal cigarettes and vapes being sold in store.

One of these successful visits was made at a store on Padiham road where 294 Cigarettes was seized, 38 HRT seized and 193 Vapes seized. All of these which would have a approximate retail value of £6,893. All of these items were seized for not being compliant with UK regulations. 

The Burnley Neighbourhood Policing team and Trading Standards will continue to target shops involved in selling illegal goods. Selling these sorts of good are an endangerment to the community, Illicit tobacco and vapes are a danger as they are not regulated, and sometimes contain harmful ingredients, such as arsenic and rat droppings.
