Court Conviction of Morgan and Cameron Bowes and Jack Swindells

Morgan Bowes, 18, Cameron Bowes, 22 both of Ambleside Road, Lancaster and Jack Swindells, 22 of Bedford Street, Chorley were all found guilty today at Preston Crown of Affray. The court heard that on Sunday 22nd October 2023 Cameron BOWES made threats over messages to the victim that he would come to her address and assault her family. Later that evening the Bowes brothers and Swindells attend the victims home address and the court heard they were armed with a golf club and a knife. The Bowes brothers proceeded to smash a number of the victims windows of her home address and made threats of violence towards her and others. The three then ran off when they knew police were coming. The court then heard police located Cameron Bowes and Jack Swindells a short while later at an address in the city and in their attempt to escape, climbed up onto a roof of a two storey building. The pair then proceeded to shout, swear and throw roof tiles at police below. This lasted for a number of hours and a considerable amount of personnel from all three emergency services had to attend, before the pair were ultimately arrested and brought into custody. The court heard Morgan Bowes was arrested a number of weeks later for the incident.

The court deemed it suitable to bail all three pending a sentencing hearing. Morgan and Cameron Bowes both have bail conditions to be within their home address between 7pm and 7am daily, amongst others, and the judge warned them that failure to adhere to these would result in them being remanded into jail pending the sentencing hearing.

PC Winders the officer in charge of the case stated “I am aware of how much these individuals cause daily misery to our communities in Lancaster, and due to their serious offending behaviour, I believe the only suitable solution now is put them behind bars. I would like to thank the witnesses in this case and the community which have supported the police and allowed us to get these convictions at court today. I hope the courts serve a suitable sentence on them in due course”.
