Your local neighbourhood officers continue to deal with those small minority of local children who think it is appropriate to cause antisocial behaviour towards others. One group tonight thought it was acceptable to attend a youth group and instead of join in, harass the staff and the other children who were trying to enjoy the activities put on for them. Another group in the city centre thought it was appropriate to harass staff of local food venues, shouting abuse at them and customers and throwing items around the venues. 

Three of the youths tonight were also riding illegal Escooters, all of which have been seized by the police and will be destroyed. These are dangerously fast machines which are not road legal, and it is especially not suitable for children to ride them, putting themselves and other people at risk of serious injury.

Two youths were also arrested in the city centre due to their behaviour and currently remain within police custody - their legal guardians are aware.

We know most children, are nice and respectable and it is the small minority who ruin it. Please if you are a parent make sure you know where your children are and what they are doing. Large groups of youths are sometimes intimidating for other members of the public, and even if it is just one child in the group who misbehaves, this can cause the perception that it is the whole group.
