Crime prevention advice

As the nights get darker, thieves get braver! The darker nights are often seen as perfect conditions for opportunistic thieves who are looking for an easy way to steal items of value from unlocked or unattended vehicles. As always, we will continue to proactively target thieves and there are some easy steps you can take to help prevent you from becoming a victim of theft: πŸ”‘ Check that your fob has done its job – always check the doors of your vehicle before you walk away. 🚚 Park in well-lit areas or close to CCTV cameras where possible. If you have a van, parking with the rear doors against a wall can also deter thieves. πŸŽ₯ Take a dash cam or sat nav with you when leaving your vehicle. ⌚ Never leave valuables in the glove box as this is the first place that thieves will look. πŸ› Don’t leave shopping on view in your vehicle – make sure everything is out of sight. 🚨 Fit an alarm or immobiliser. πŸš—If you have a garage, use it for your vehicle. πŸ”¨If you have tools, remove them from your van overnight (if you can). If not, use secure storage. Consider adding lock-boxes or a tool safe if they’re stored inside your van. Click here for more details πŸ‘‰ https://orlo.uk/9JRbg πŸ”§ Mark any tools / property with paint pens and then seal with a clear lacquer spray. Items that are overtly marked are less desirable and more difficult to sell on. You can also register your equipment which could help to recover it should it be stolen.
