'Bright Sparx' - Bonfire and Firework Safety Education Sessions in Hyndburn

Good afternoon,

Over the past week the Hyndburn Neighbourhood Policing Team and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service have been attending secondary schools in the area to educate our young people about the consequences of causing antisocial behaviour as a result of misusing fireworks and setting fires (arson). The sessions have been jointly presented by both agencies.

We also utilised the following video to educate the young people. The video shows the impact of attacks on emergency services from a few years ago, in 2021, where a number of young people were arrested for their involvement in such activity.

We hope the sessions will make our young people think and that we can avoid further issues this year as we enter half-term and then Halloween/ bonfire night.

Kind regards,

PC 3629 Paul Pountain. PCSO 7488 Mat Gill and the Hyndburn Neighbourhood Policing Team.
