Operation Rally - Accrington Town Centre 

On Wednesday 18th September 2024, your local neighbourhood policing team have conducted Operation Rally in Accrington Town Centre. The objective of this operation is to engage with the local community and work alongside partner agencies to combat criminal activity and anti-social behaviour. 

Here are some of the things we did:

*) Joint visits with Onward Housing, addressing community issues, ASB and any housing needs. 

*) School visits were conducted and road safety talks provided to pupils. This included parking safely at schools entrances. 

*) The Police Cadets signed up local residents to ‘IN THE KNOW'. 

*) Coffee with a Cop was conducted at Farmfoods, Asda and Iceland. 

*) Reassurance patrol's were conducted by Mounted Branch on Broadway, Eastgate, Accrington Bus Station, Eagle Street.

*) We also conducted traffic enforcement checks on Hyndburn Road, close to McDonalds. Drivers were educated about the ‘No Right Turn’ sign, turning onto Vue carpark.

*) High visibility foot patrols were conducted in the Town Centre, which included visiting shop premises and hot spots areas. 

Overall, it was a successful day, and it will be repeated again in the future.
