Good afternoon,
Recently we have seen a bout of graffiti tags springing up around various parts of Ingol. These are being sprayed on public buildings including the Library, telephone kiosk and other public areas. Graffiti can over time erode community solidarity and create a sense of insecurity amongst its residents. It tells people that no one is caring for the area and its facilities which I know is not true of our area. It can tarnish the respected reputation of a neighbourhood, damage key infrastructure and cause significant financial losses to both individuals and businesses who have to remove the graffiti.
If you're caught doing graffiti, you will be guilty of a criminal offence under Sect 1 of the Criminal Damage Act 1971.
If anyone has any knowledge of those responsible for this tag then please get in touch with your local policing team before we see more pop up and we can deal accordingly. Any information can be treat in confidence.
Thank you as always, PC Jenny
