Local Neighbourhood Policing officers in-company with colleagues from the trading standards department have conducted a vapes test purchasing operation within the Hyndburn Area.Officers have attended several shop premises with two serving Vapes to an underage person, officers have also seized a substantial amount of illegal tobacco from one of the shops visited on the day.

It is illegal to sell vaping products to anyone under the age of 18 and retailers are required to verify the age of their customers before making a sale.

The Operation was conducted after information was passed onto the Lancashire County Council Trading Standards Department by the local Hyndburn community who outlined which shop premises where selling vapes to underage people.
