Good afternoon,
Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home.
Here are some precautions to reduce your risk of becoming a victim:
Be secure - Close and lock all doors and windows. Fit extra strong locks and consider installing an alarm. Hide all keys - including car keys. Keep keys out of sight and away from the letterbox (a device could be used to hook keys) Remove temptation - Make sure your valuables can't be seen. Store valuables in a secure place or a safe. Mark your property - with your postcode and house number and register for free, online at immobolise.com Con the criminal - Leave a radio or light on timer and draw the curtains if you go out at night. Be a good neighbour - Keep an eye on each others property. Let your neighbours know when you go on holiday and cancel deliveries. Put criminals in the spotlight - Consider security lights, CCTV or a ring style doorbell.
In an emergency (if there is an intruder in your home or a crime is taking place) always call 999. To report a crime or suspicious activity call 101 or report online at doitonline.lancashire.police.uk
