The local neighbourhood policing team have been conducting speed checks along Walton Lane in the recent weeks due to ongoing reports of speeding vehicles.  In just one hour a total of 229 vehicles checked and 65 speeders recorded, Highest speed 48 mph. We attended with the Community Road watch unit, and all the offending vehicles will be issued with warnings. Just a reminder that the speed limit is 20mph. We are looking at resourcing similar checks on surrounding roads, Barkerhouse Road and Townhouse Road as a priority due to the amount of reports we have been receiving from local residents.
